I get asked a lot what I wear when I'm home listing/photographing/sewing/cleaning. Cotton day dresses are a favorite (like the one in the photos above- it's plaid with a necktie & bakelite buttons!) or denim with easy blouses, usually with my hair up. When I'm steam cleaning or ironing it can get pretty warm having long hair so I like to keep it in a high ponytail, Carrie Bradshaw bun or Heidi braids. The inspiration for these braids comes from a photo of my grandmother at 16, she has her hair braided on top of her head with a pretty coif in the front!
Hope you all are having a wonderful Tuesday!

I had a customer submit these photos to the feedback page (let me tell you, this is always such a fun surprise to find a photo has been submitted, I love it!) She purchased a late '50s canary yellow chiffon dress & it fits her like a glove. I especially like the last photo, the low back on the dress highlights her pretty ink :)

How cute is this book? How to Sew a Button: And Other Nifty Things Your Grandmother Knew by Erin Bried. I've just added it to my wishlist. It covers topics such as 'How to Raise a Good Citizen' & 'How to Wear Red Lipstick.'
&, I think I may have to snag the Grandfather version for my boyfriend.
How to Build A Fire: And Other Handy Things Your Grandfather Knew also by Erin Bried

Ah, the amazing Nicole of Fashion Forestry. She has so much fun with her outfits, I am always smitten. Her dress below is from Bohemian Bisoux Vintage. You'll be seeing much more of her in the Girls in BBV category!

As a vintage seller, I've found it so sweet that my customers want to get to know me beyond Bohemian Bisoux Vintage. They see my products, my shop design, & little tid bits of my personality come through on the Facebook page, but most of what I post is about the business. I had a customer ask me the other day what inspires me. I have a ton of influences, like most do, but reading is what really pulls me out of a creative slump. I purchased these books over the past few months & have turned to them whenever I need a boost (& the Vintage Cocktails book goes without saying- nothing better than a Bellini!)
1) Flea Market Style by Emily Chalmers
2) Parisian Chic: A Style Guide by Ines de la Fressange
3) The Vintage Modern Home by Katherine Sorrell
4) My Mom Style Icon by Piper Weiss (I've been reading the blog & enjoying the Lucky column so much that I am ordering the book. I can't wait for it to arrive!)
5) Vintage Cocktails by Brian Van Flandern
As always, if any of you pretties have any questions feel free to ask me!

Those of you who have seen the previous Bohemian Bisoux Vintage blog know that periodically I would post 'Girls in BBV'. I have loved receiving photos of my buyers with their vintage, & will continue the tradition of posting here.
Back in September I sold the "Brooklyn" gown to a sweetheart who planned to wear it to the prom. She sent me her photo & I am smitten!

After leaving the previous Bohemian Bisoux Vintage website behind, I lost all of my blog posts & site information.
Over the next few weeks I will be re-doing those older posts so that those of you who haven't seen the previous blog don't miss out!
The move to Blogger has been nice & smooth, & I can't wait to fill the new Bohemian Bisoux Vintage blog with photos, tutorials, outfit posts & other vintage musings.
Bisoux to all of you, enjoy the last few hours of the weekend!
